Aldara
Aldara is a prescription cream used to treat Actinic Keratosis, external genital warts and superficial basal cell carcinoma. It is manufactured by 3M Pharmaceuticals and was approved by the FDA in 1997.
Aldara has been linked to some serious side effects. The most common serious side effect that Aldara may cause is anaphylactic shock or body-wide allergic reaction. This occurs when white blood cells overreact to perceived threats in the body. Symptoms of anaphylactic shock include rash, angioedema of the face, low blood pressure, death and throat swelling.
The drug also disturbs the cytokine movement, which is important for immune system communication. If cytokine movement is disrupted, the body can become afflicted with a variety of auto immune diseases such as; psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, celiac disease and Type II diabetes.
