Vincristine

Vincristine is an intravenous chemotherapy drug that is used to treat leukemia, Hodgkin’s lymphoma and other serious cancers of the lymph node or immune system. This medication can also b e used to treat Kaposi’s sarcoma, which is a cancer of the body tissues related to AIDS. This medication slows the growth of cancer cells throughout the body.

Side Effects/Warnings

This medication must be injected only into the veins; it should be administered only by a doctor who is familiar with the drug and its effects. Exposing the drug to body tissues can cause toxic reactions. If the injection site becomes red or sore, notify your doctor immediately; this happens if the medication leaks into body tissue from the veins.
