Trimipramine

Trimipramine is an antidepressant medication. It is used to help patients feel mental well-being. It changes brain chemistry in order to prevent feelings of depression, anger, hopelessness, worthlessness or guilt. It is taken on a daily basis in order to continue to promote mental health.

Side Effects/Warnings

This medication causes physical dependence if taken for a long period of time. Never stop taking it abruptly; doing so can throw the body into shock and cause seizures, heart problems, high blood pressure and suicidal feelings.

Some patients have suicidal thoughts and feelings when they first take this medication or at any time after they begin taking it. Patients should be monitored carefully for risk of self-harming behavior while on this medication.
