Tolcapone
Tolcapone is used in conjunction with levodopa and carbidopa to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. This medication is taken orally three times a day to help control tremors and other symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.
Side Effects/Warnings
This medication can cause serious liver damage. Patients should contact their doctors immediately if they have a chronic upset stomach while on this medication, especially if they also have other symptoms of liver disease such as jaundice, brown urine, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting. You should have your liver function tested before beginning this medication to make sure you don’t already suffer from liver disease.
