Tenofovir is one of several drugs that might be prescribed to treat HIV. This drug helps slow the HIV virus’ spread throughout the body so that the patient is less likely to be acutely ill and can live a longer and healthier life. The drug does not prevent or treat HIV-related infections and illnesses.
Side Effects/Warnings
Although Tenofovir can help slow the spread of the HIV virus throughout the body, it doesn’t stop the virus from spreading from person to person.
