Patients who have tumors in their stomach or their esophagus may be prescribed Sunitinib. This chemotherapy medication is usually used to treat tumors in people who do not respond to other types of chemotherapeutic drugs and may also be used for advanced renal or pancreatic cancer treatment. Sunitinib works by blocking proteins that tell cancer cells to multiply so that cancer stops spreading.
