Side Effects/Warnings

This medication contains the same toxin that causes botulism, a serious toxin that can cause people to stop breathing. If you have difficulty breathing or swallowing while on this medication, the toxin might have spread out from the injection site; you need to seek medical treatment immediately. These symptoms often appear immediately after treatment, but can take several weeks to appear. In addition to difficulty breathing or swallowing, you might experience urinary incontinence, difficulty speaking and vision problems if the toxin spreads out from the injection site.
