Some people who are on chemotherapy may need to take Rasburicase injections. As chemotherapy breaks up tumors, patients may experience a build-up of uric acid in the blood. Rasburicase helps break uric acid down into elements that the body can eliminate so that the acid doesn’t continue to build up in the blood and cause serious health problems.
