Quinapril is a blood pressure medication that may or may not be prescribed in conjunction with other medications. This medication is an ACE inhibitor; it lowers blood pressure by blocking the production of enzymes that narrow the blood vessels, thus causing blood vessels to widen.
Warnings/Side Effects
ACE inhibitor drugs such as Quinapril are harmful to developing fetuses. Pregnant women should avoid this medication. If you become pregnant while on this medication, contact your doctor immediately.
Some people may experience too large of a drop in blood pressure while on this medication, especially if they are also on other blood pressure medications. Dizziness and drowsiness are symptoms of low blood pressure. Get emergency medical treatment if you have these symptoms.
