Pentostatin
Pentostatin is a chemotherapy medication that is used to treat hairy cell leukemia and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. This medication is an antibiotic medication used only to treat cancer; it stops the growth of cancer cells. It is injected into your veins at a doctor’s office or hospital.
Side Effects/Warnings
This medication can cause brain damage as well as kidney and liver damage. Call your doctor immediately if you have any of the following symptoms:
- Weakness
- Changes in vision and hearing
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Tingling of the hands or feet
- Confusion
- Loss of coordination
