Paroxetine
Paroxetine is an antidepressant medication. This medication changes the chemical composition of the brain in order to eliminate feelings of depression, sadness anger and guilt and to promote feelings of mental balance and harmony.
Side Effects/Warnings
A small number of patients become more depressed while on this medication and may become suicidal. Many of these patients are under the age of 24; however, all patients should be monitored carefully for signs of suicidal intent while on this medication so that doctors can intervene if they intend to harm themselves.
This medication can cause physical dependence. Stopping cold turkey can cause severe mood swings and suicidal feelings as well as heart problems, extremely high blood pressure and seizures. If you want to stop taking this medication, do so gradually in order to minimize the possibility of side effects.
