Nadrolone Decanoate is an injectable steroid medication that is prescribed for anemia related to kidney failure. This medication stimulates red blood cell production in order to resolve anemia problems. It is usually given to patients in a hospital setting, although some patients inject the medication themselves at home.

Side Effects/Warnings

This medication can raise blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. Diabetics should monitor their blood sugar levels more carefully while on this medication than usual.

This medication can cause blood-filled cysts to form on the liver, often leading to liver damage and disease. Patients need to get regular liver tests and to discontinue the medication immediately if cysts begin to form on the liver. The medication can also cause cancerous tumors to form on the liver. In both cases, the unnatural growths disappear if the medication is discontinued.
