Moricizine is an anti-arrhythmic drug; it helps regulate the heartbeat in people who have irregular or unusual heart beat patterns for a variety of reasons. This medication works by blocking some electrical signals to the heart so that the heart beats steadily rather than beating irregularly.
This medication can make arrhythmias worse in some patients. This can lead to fatal cardiac arrest or to strokes. Patients who have a history of heart disease should not take this medication. In addition, you should call 911 if you have any of the following symptoms:
- Pounding heart
- Swelling of the ankles or feet
- Chest pain
- Difficulty breathing
