Mitomycin
Mitomycin is an antibiotic that is used to treat cancer of the pancreas or stomach. This medication attacks cancer cells in order to slow their growth and eventually eliminate cancer from the body. Mitomycin may also be used to treat other advanced cancers such as bladder cancer.
Side Effects/Warnings
This medication can suppress blood cell development in the bone marrow. This can cause serious infections because the body is not producing enough white blood cells. Patients who suffer from cancer are at risk of infections and illness both because of this medication and because of the nature of their disease.
