Milnacipran

Side Effects/Warnings
This medication can cause suicidal feelings in some patients, especially those who are younger than 24. The brain chemicals it affects can cause depression, suicidal thoughts and self-harming behaviors in some people. People on this medication should be monitored for self-destructive behaviors, especially during the first few weeks of taking the medication.
Long-term use of this medication leads to physical dependence. Patients who want to stop taking the medication should consistently lower their dose over a period of weeks rather than stopping all at once.
