Midodrine
Midodrine is used to treat orthostatic hypotension, a condition where a person experiences a drop in blood pressure upon standing. This medication interacts with blood vessels to cause blood pressure to rise. This medication is taken three times a day, usually during the hours the person is most likely to be on his or her feet. It should not be taken within four hours of bedtime.
Side Effects/Warnings
This medication should never be taken while lying down or when you are getting ready to lie down. Lying on your back can cause your blood pressure to elevate to dangerous levels. Do not lie down for four hours after taking this medication.
