Irbesartan
Irbesartan is an ACE inhibitor drug that is often prescribed to treat high blood pressure. This medication blocks the production of an enzyme that causes blood vessels to become more narrow. The medication may be prescribed on its own or with other blood pressure medications.
Side Effects/Warnings
ACE inhibitor drugs are lethal to developing fetuses. Do not take this drug if you are pregnant; call your doctor immediately if you suspect pregnancy while on this medication. Fetuses exposed to this medication either die or develop severe birth defects.
This medication can cause low blood pressure, especially if prescribed in conjunction with other blood pressure medications. Call your doctor right away if you feel unusually dizzy or drowsy after taking this medication.
