Immune Globulin, RHo D (Intravenous)
his medication helps boost the immune system and increases the amount of blood platelets so that blood will clot more easily. It is given via an IV drip that takes several hours to complete and may be given for several days or weeks at a time.
Side Effects/Warnings
This medication can cause kidney failure. This complication is more likely in patients who are over the age of 65 or who suffer from diabetes or kidney failure. Taking other medications that damage the kidneys also increase the likelihood of kidney failure. See your doctor if you have any of the following symptoms of kidney failure:
- Decreased urination
- Fatigue
- Sudden weight gain
- Swelling of the legs and ankles
- Shortness of breath
- Lower back pain
