Hydralazine is a blood pressure medication. It lowers blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels so that blood can more easily flow through them. It may be prescribed in conjunction with other blood pressure medications.

Side Effects/Warnings

This medication can cause blood pressure to become too low. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness after taking this medication, call your doctor. You should also call your doctor if you have any of the following serious side effects:

  • Muscle pain and weakness
  • Fever
  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Chest pain
  • Fainting
  • Swelling, numbness or tingling in the hands or feet
