This medication can cause permanent hearing loss as well as kidney damage. Patients who are already suffering from kidney problems are at the greatest risk of developing serious side effects. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience ringing in your ears, vertigo, hearing loss, difficulty urinating or difficulty breathing while on this medication.
