Furosemide
Furosemide is a diuretic drug that is used to treat high blood pressure as well as reduce swelling and fluid retention related to heart disease and liver disease. This drug stimulates the kidneys so that excessive fluid is eliminated from the body via urination.
Side Effects/Warnings
This medication is a potent diuretic which can cause dehydration in some people. If you are extremely thirsty, have a dry mouth, are lightheaded, weak, fatigued and/or have fainting spells while on this medication, contact your doctor immediately. Other severe side effects of this medication include ringing in the ears, fever, sore throat and unusual bleeding or bruising.
