Fosinopril
Fosinopril is an ACE inhibitor. This medication lowers blood pressure by blocking the production of an enzyme that causes blood vessels to become more narrow. As a result of taking this medication, blood vessel widen, allowing blood to flow more easily through them.
Side Effects/Warnings
Women should not take this medication while pregnant. It causes serious and often fatal birth defects. Women may want to avoid breastfeeding while on this medication to avoid transmitting the medication to their children.
This medication may cause abnormally low blood pressure in some patients. Low blood pressure is characterized by dizziness and drowsiness.
