Fentanyl Sublingual Spray is a painkiller designed to handle breakthrough pain in cancer patients who need pain management medication throughout the day. This medication is sprayed underneath the tongue in order to control breakthrough pain episodes.

Side Effects/Warnings

This medication is intended for use only in conjunction with other cancer pain medications. It should not be taken if it is not needed or taken to relieve pain other than breakthrough cancer pain. This medication is a high-strength narcotic that can be fatal if taken inappropriately.

There is a risk of addiction and abuse with this medication, so patients who have abused narcotic drugs in the past should not take it.

This medication is not intended for and cannot be used by children. If a child gets into this medication, call 911 immediately.
