Eprosartan is an ACE inhibitor. This type of drug helps lower blood pressure by inhibiting the production of an enzyme that causes blood vessels to become more narrow. This gives blood more room to move through the vessels so that blood pressure falls.

Side Effects/Warnings

Taking this medication can cause abnormally low blood pressure. Patients should seek immediate medical attention if they feel extremely dizzy or drowsy after taking Eprosartan.

ACE inhibitor medications are dangerous to developing fetuses. If a pregnant woman takes this medication, her child may die in the womb or be born with serious birth defects.
