Eltrombopag Olamine

Eltrombopag Olamine is used to increase the number of blood platelets in people who experience ease of bruising and bleeding because of a rare condition that causes low platelet count. This medication stimulates platelet production in the bone marrow. However, it should only be prescribed to patients who have not responded to less aggressive forms of treatment for their condition.

Side Effects/Warnings

This medication can cause liver disease. Patients who have liver problems should not take it. In addition, patients should see their doctors immediately if they experience any of the following symptoms while on Eltromobopag Olamine:

• Jaundice
• Brown urine
• Black, tarry stools
• Severe stomach pain
• Nausea and vomiting
