Drospirenone/Estradiol is an estrogen supplement that menopausal women and other women who suffer from low estrogen may take. This medication increases the estrogen levels in the body in order to relieve symptoms related to low estrogen and help women feel more balanced.

Women who take this medication have an increased risk of breast cancer, heart attack or stroke. This medication should not be taken for reasons other than a hormonal imbalance; patients should be given the lowest effective dose and should be taken off the medication as soon as possible to reduce the risk of serious illness. Women who need to be on this medication long-term should get regular exams to make sure they don’t have serious diseases associated with the medication.
