Disopyramide
Disopyramide is prescribed for patients who have heart arrhythmias. This medication helps regulate heartbeat by making the heart more resistant to abnormal heartbeat patterns. The medication is taken orally two to four times a day in order to keep heartbeats steady and regular.
Side Effects/Warnings
This medication doesn’t cure arrhythmias; patients need to continue taking it even after feeling better in order to keep their heart rate under control.
Patients who already have had a heart attack or stroke are in danger of having another, fatal cardiovascular event if they take this medication. Patients who do not have a history of heart disease may also be at increased risk of heart attack or stroke after taking Disopyramide.
