Denileukin diftitox
Denileukin difitox is a chemotherapy drug that is given to people who suffer from severe T-cell lymphoma. This medication is usually given to patients whose condition has worsened after taking other chemotherapy drugs or who have a resurgence of cancer. It works by killing existing cancer cells within the immune system.
Side Effects/Warnings
Patients sometimes have an allergic reaction right after receiving this medication. They should get immediate medical assistance if they experience any of the following symptoms:
- Fever and chills
- Hives and rashes
- Difficulty breathing or swalllowing
- Slowed breathing
- Rapid heartbeat
- Chest pain
- Tightening of the throat
Patients may also suffer from capillary leak syndrome, which causes low blood pressure and fluid retention, after taking this medication. If you feel dizzy or drowsy and have swelling in your arms or legs, contact your doctor immediately.
You should also contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or any other vision problems after starting this medication.
