Coagulation Factor VIIa Recombinant
Coagulation Factor VIIa Recombinant is used to help treat hemophilia, a blood condition in which the blood doesn’t clot properly, causing excessive bleeding from minor injuries. This medication is infused in combination with blood transfusions so that the body doesn’t view transfused clotting factors as foreign invaders and try to attack them.
Warnings/Side Effects
Patients who take this drug are at increased risk of blood clots forming inside the arteries. This can impede the proper flow of blood through the body and lead to serious complications. If blood clots block blood flow significantly enough, cells won’t get enough oxygen and will die. This can lead to strokes.
