Atomoxetine

Atomoxetine is a drug prescribed to help people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, sit still and concentrate on what they are doing. This drug stimulates the nervous system so that patients who take it can concentrate better for short periods of time.

Warnings/Side Effects

This drug is associated with increased risk of suicidal thoughts and feelings in children and adolescents. Young people who take this medication should be monitored closely for depression and suicidal feelings so that they don’t engage in self-harming behavior or attempt suicide. Patients who suffer from depression should not take this medication, as it can make depression worse and propel depressed patients towards suicide.
