Many women take Medroxyprogesterone Acetate to prevent accidental pregnancy if they are sexually active. This medication can be injected or given orally. It provides extra estrogen to the body to fool the body into thinking it is already pregnant and not releasing eggs. This type of birth control is considered extremely effective.
