Cisplatin is a chemotherapy drug that is used to treat cancer of the testicles, ovaries or bladder. This drug is usually used in conjunction with other chemotherapy drugs when radiation therapy or other chemotherapy has failed to adequately control cancer. Cisplatin contains platinum; the platinum as well as other ingredients in the drug inhibits the growth of cancer cells.
