Altretamine

Altretamine is a drug used to treat ovarian cancer and lung cancer, although it is only approved for the treatment of ovarian cancer. This drug interferes with the production and growth of cancer cells in an attempt to inhibit the spread of cancer.

Warnings/Side Effects

Altretamine can cause both mental and physical side effects. Many people experience increased anxiety or depression while on this medication. It can also cause nausea, vomiting and general weakness.

Get immediate medical treatment if you experience any of the following side effects:

• Severe drowsiness or loss of consciousness
• Extreme fatigue
• Bruising or bleeding in response to minor injuries
• Black or bloody stools
• Allergic reactions such as swelling of the throat or difficulty breathing
