Oxycodone hydrochloride is an oral medication that is dispensed for severe pain. This medication blocks nerve impulses that signal pain to the brain so that patients don’t feel chronic or severe pain. This medication is sometimes given to patients who have become tolerant of other narcotic medications.

This medication contains a narcotic drug and is potentially addictive.
