Maraviroc is often used as part of a “drug cocktail,” or series of drugs prescribed concurrently to HIV positive patients to keep the virus from spreading through the body and protect against HIV-related infections and illnesses. This medication is taken orally twice a day to prevent the spread of HIV throughout the body.
Side Effects/Warnings
Maraviroc does not protect against the spread of HIV; patients should practice safe sexual habits to minimize the risk of spreading HIV to sexual partners and should not share hypodermic needles with other people.
