Lymphocyte immune globulin is sometimes prescribed for patients who undergo organ transplant surgery. This medication suppresses the immune system so that it cannot attack the foreign organ after the transplant. This medication is most often used in kidney transplant cases. It can also be used to help treat aplastic anemia.
Side Effects/Warnings
Patients who are on this medication are susceptible to infections because their immune system is compromised. They should see a doctor immediately if they experience fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, sore throat, congestion or difficulty breathing.
Patients who are allergic to horses cannot take this medication because it uses horse products.
