Patients who have blood clotting problems, such as those who have blood diseases or certain types of cancer, might receive intravenous immune globulins to raise their platelet count and help their blood to clot. Patients who are on immunosuppressive drugs or suffer from HIV might also receive this treatment to help boost their immune systems.
Side Effects/Warnings
Patients over 65, those with diabetes and those who are on medications that cause kidney damage may suffer from kidney failure while on this medication.
