Gadopentetate is a contrasting agent that may be injected into the veins prior to running an MRI scan. This agent causes differences in the magnetic field that allow doctors to more easily see tissue when they look at the results of the scan. This helps doctors locate and diagnose abnormalities such as tumors or lesions.
